Eco-Ranger Clubs

​

Formed 2 Eco-ranger clubs for boys and girls in Samlout with total 52 students include 26 girls. The aim of forming club is to promote the preservation of wildlife, water, forests and pollution/health by reaching out to the next generation of conservationists. The activities include: Youth and the environment, trees planting, and eco-ranger day camp

Trees planting

​

  • Eco-ranger work with teachers, school principals, village chiefs, community forestry and commune councilors to organize trees planting events at community forestry, public road and schools.

  • Invite students from grade 3 to 6, some parents to planting the trees

  • Provide awareness campaign on the important of trees and forestry to all participants

  • Planting the trees or replanting the trees

Eco-Ranger Day Camp

 

The activities will focus on: Clean up school and road in community, travel to community forestry, protected area in Samlout and Pailin, nature walk and scavenger hunt, drawing/ painting/ poem, play games, meeting and discuss with parents, community forestry officers, teachers and eco-rangers.

Youth & The Environment

 

Provide conservation, environment,   waste management knowledge to youth in Samlout (ages 12-16). The activities includes:

  • Deliver conservation and environment knowledge workshop to 100 youths (boys and girls) in Samlout and Pailin. The workshop will discuss about environmental problems and solutions in the community.

  • The workshop will be conducted by PRD staff or Provincial of Environment Officers or Ministry of Environment Officer.
