Association of Solidarity Knitting IAIA (IAIA Association) in Spain donates knitted bee blankets and wool books to PRD to conduct awareness on bee protection and protect the environment.

IAIA Association in Spain knits wool books in order to awareness on bees protection. Many grannies that are knitting in nursery centres and also in their houses, they feel they are really useful and happy to knit to protect the Environment.
Some of the participants appreciated meeting places where they could meet and talk, have a cup of coffee, do some knitting and socialise. To be active as they used to be before and being happy of remembering the importance of bees and protecting the environment.
IAIA Association delivers the wool books to PDR. The first delivery​​​ of wool-books were distributed to 5 kindergarten classes located in PRD target schools. Each class received 1 book and a story of a bumble bee: 3 books were given to poor children near the PRD office in Battambang. The second delivery of wool-books will be distributed in June and August 2018.
In November 2017, PRD’s Education Program Manager held a workshop for kindergarten teachers on how to use the books in a classroom. He also explained how the books were made and by whom. Following the workshop, the teachers started to use the books and tell the story of SOS Bees in their classes.

People who participate in the projects of IAIA Association get a great sense of responsibility towards themselves and towards our community, loneliness is also combated and there is a empowerment and a sense of belonging to a Social network. Thanks to the Knitting Therapy, these people feel fulfilled and their self-esteem improves!
